About Us

Our Bed & Breakfast & Restaurant is located in a small hamlet known as Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa (a place in the hills) which is 5 miles from Lake Vyrnwy (we are now one of the closest B&B's!) and within easy access to the Welsh coast and historic buildings such as Powys Castle, Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall to name but a few. 

We have been running for 6 years and have always ensured that our guests have a home from home experience. 
This truly unspoiled part of Wales is the place to come if you need peace & tranquillity and we also have Glyndwr Way & Ann Griffiths walks close by.
For the evenings you can book a home cooked meal in our restaurant and visit the small unspoilt public house known as the Goat Inn within short walking distance in the village.

We grow much of our fresh fruit and vegetables and cook everything in our own kitchen and earned a 5 Star hygene rating which we are proud of! All meat is locally sourced and there are a variety of sweets on offer depending on the season.

Meals on offer include a variety of tasty homemade dishes such as Leek and Potato Bake, Beef Lasagne, Beef in Ale and Cottage Pie. We offer light bites and more substantial meals for bookings.

We ask that you call 01691 648129 to book a table in advance and we will be delighted to welcome you! Please find below our Main Menu, however we have specials on every day on the board in the restaurant. Please inform us if you or anyone in your party has any special dietary requirements when you book, and we will be happy to change dishes accordingly.

We also have a range of starters and deserts to tantalise all appetites such as Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue Pie, Seasonal Crumble and Sticky Toffee Pudding. 

Feel free to bring your own alcoholic drinks as we don't charge a corkage fee, but we do have a range of soft drinks available.

MAIN COURSES

Sirloin Steak

A 9oz. Angus top sirloin steak full of flavor and texture. Served with chips, mashed potato or when in season, our home grown new potatoes. This also comes with onion rings, mushrooms, peas, carrots and fresh salad.

Horseshoe Gammon

Served with either an egg or pineapple, chips, mashed potato or home grown new potatoes when in season and peas, carrots and fresh salad.

Scampi

Served with tartare sauce and fresh lemon, chips peas and a fresh salad.

Vegetable Lasagne (V)

A delicious vegitarian dish made with mushrooms, courgettes & tomatoes, and cooked slowly to enhance the flavour and served with a fresh salad.

Beef Lasagne

Locally sourced Welsh minced beef, cooked slowly and topped with Welsh cheddar cheese and served with chips, mashed potato or home grown new potatoes when in season, peas & salad garnish.

Lamb Shank

Delicious lamb shank served with chips, mashed potato or when in season, our home grown new potatoes, peas, carrots and fresh salad.

Beef in Ale

Cooked in Guiness in the slow cooker making it beautifully tender.

Cottage Pie

Made with locally sourced Welsh beef mince served with chips, mashed potato or seasonally available home grown new potatoes, peas, carrots & gravy.
